Chuck Schumer takes this role very seriously. The New York senator meets with candidates for every race and conducts the “Schumer interview”: a one-on-one conversation in which he grills the individual about their life, why they are running, and their political views. He selects from the potential main contenders whom he believes to be the best candidate and offers his institutional support. Schumer is the judge and jury. He makes the final selection and his decision selects virtually all of the major Democratic Senate nominees in America.
Schumer and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) then go about clearing the path for their anointed choice. They tell the best campaign managers and political staffers that if they work with candidates challenging their choice in a primary, they will then be “frozen” out of working for their choices in future races. That often scares away all the top-tier advisors, making it difficult to find the high-quality staff needed to build a successful campaign. The only candidates with the ability to buck the system are the extremely wealthy ones who can fund their own campaigns. For everyone else, it becomes a massive hurdle. Running for office is hard; running for your own party’s nomination against the party itself (without being a multimillionaire) is nearly impossible.

Как-то 1 из фараонов написал на обелиске: все думают, что я проиграл эту битву, но последующие 3 тысячи лет покажут, что я её выиграл. Ну как-то нехорошо дедушку на пол-пути обламывать, ещё тысячёнку лет глобализации-то надо заебошить.

Евреи в РФ либеральны и основа оппозиции. Скорее Соловьев (если он искренен) выглядит отщепенцев в этом ряду Венедиктовы, Гозманов, Шлоссбергов, Миловых, Волковых, Каспаров, Пионтковских, Ходорковских, Явлинских и прочих.
Нет никакой конкуренции.
